Darius "Darjo" Earvin Johnson-Odom was born on September 28, 1989. He is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for Al-Difaa Al-Jawi in the Iraqi Basketball Premier League. Darius first played college basketball at Hutchinson Community College. In 2009, he moved to Marquette University. During his final year at Marquette, he was named a first-team All-Big East player.

Darius Johnson-Odom's Basketball Journey
Darius played three seasons at Marquette University. After college, he was chosen by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2012 2012 NBA draft. He was the 55th player picked overall. Right after, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Playing in the NBA and D-League
During the 2012–13 NBA season, Darius spent time with the Lakers. He also played for their D-League team, the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The D-League is now called the G-League. He was a top scorer for the D-Fenders. He averaged 21 points per game there.
In January 2013, the Lakers decided to let him go. He had played only a few minutes in four games for the Lakers. Later that month, he joined Spartak St. Petersburg in Russia.
Moving to Different Teams
Darius played for the Boston Celtics in the 2013 Summer League. He briefly rejoined the Lakers but was waived again. In October 2013, he signed with the Sichuan Blue Whales in China. He left that team after only four games.
In 2014, he played for the Springfield Armor. He also signed a short contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. After this, he did not play in the NBA again.
Playing Overseas
Darius continued his career playing for many teams outside the United States.

In 2018, Darius signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, he was waived shortly after. He then joined the Iowa Wolves, a G-League team. He was a key player for them, scoring 22.5 points per game.
After his time with the Iowa Wolves, Darius returned to Italy. He signed with Reggio Emilia in March 2019. He extended his contract with them for two more years.
In July 2020, he signed with Orléans Loiret Basket in France. In October 2021, he moved to Le Mans Sarthe, another French team. In July 2022, he signed with Rapid București in Romania.
In February 2024, Darius returned to Orléans Loiret Basket in France. He played well, averaging 13.9 points and 6.4 assists per game. Most recently, in September 2024, he signed with Al-Difaa Al-Jawi in Iraq.
Winning The Basketball Tournament
Darius Johnson-Odom has also played in The Basketball Tournament (TBT). This is a special yearly tournament where the winning team gets a million dollars! He played for the Golden Eagles team. This team is mostly made up of former Marquette players.
He played in TBT in 2016 and 2017. In TBT 2020, his team won the entire tournament and the big prize! Darius was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. He scored 15 points in the final game. He also returned to play for the Golden Eagles in TBT 2022.
