What's in a Name?
The community of Darrah has had a few different names over time. It was once known as "Snow Creek" and also "Darrah's." The name "Darrah" was chosen to honor a person named Richard Darrah. He was the very first postmaster for the area.
Darrah's Post Office
Darrah used to have its own post office. It first opened in 1880. It stayed open for many years, but it did close for a short time between 1889 and 1890. The post office eventually stopped operating in 1907.
