Darrouzett is a small town located in Lipscomb County, Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 309 people lived there. This number was a bit lower than the 350 people counted in 2010. The town got its name from John Louis Darrouzet. He was a Texas state lawmaker and also worked as a lawyer for the Santa Fe Railroad company.
Where is Darrouzett?
Darrouzett is in the northern part of Lipscomb County. Texas State Highway 15 goes right through the middle of town. This road is also called Broadway Avenue. If you go east on this highway, you'll reach Follett in about 10 miles. Going west for about 12 miles will take you to Booker.
Lipscomb, which is the main town of the county (called the county seat), is about 17 miles south. You can get there by taking State Highway 305. The border with Oklahoma is only about 4 miles north of Darrouzett.
The town covers an area of about 0.4 square miles, and it's all land. Two creeks, Plummer Creek and Kiowa Creek, flow through the town. They meet just east of Darrouzett. Near where the creeks meet, you'll find the Darrouzett Golf Course. It's a nine-hole course kept nice by volunteers from all over the county.
