Early Life

Darryl Hinds was born in Canada. His parents moved there from Jamaica. His father has Afro-Jamaican roots, and his mother has Indo-Caribbean roots.

Career

Darryl started his career acting on stage. He was part of a comedy group called Electric Boogaloo. Later, in 2007, he joined The Second City in Toronto. This is a famous comedy theater. He performed in many shows there. One show was called Barack to the Future in 2008. In this show, he played Barack Obama in several funny sketches.

In 2014, Darryl joined the Royal Canadian Air Farce team. This was for their special TV shows. He stayed with them until their last special in 2019.

In 2020, Darryl took part in a special online show. It was called Mass Hysterical: A Comedic Cantata. This show combined comedy from Second City actors with music from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. It told a funny story about classical music.

Darryl has also acted in many TV shows. He had roles in Combat Hospital and Little Mosque on the Prairie. He was also in Rookie Blue and Murdoch Mysteries. Kids might know him best from Odd Squad. In this show, he played Coach Roberts. He also had a main role in the family sitcom Overlord and the Underwoods in 2021. For his work in Overlord and the Underwoods, he was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. This award was for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 2022.
