Darryl Nasir Reynolds was born on October 13, 1993. He is an American basketball coach and a former player. Darryl played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats. He also played one season professionally for Start Lublin in Poland.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Darryl Reynolds grew up in Philadelphia. He went to Lower Merion High School. He also played for youth basketball teams like the Sharon Knights AAU and Philly Pride.
High School Success
When Darryl was a senior in high school, he played very well. He averaged 11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.2 blocked shots per game. In the state playoffs, his numbers were even better. He helped his team reach the Pennsylvania Class AAAA state championship game. Darryl was chosen for the first-team All-Central League. He was also a first-team All-Main Line player.
Choosing College
After high school, Darryl spent a year at the Worcester Academy. He then decided to play college basketball at Villanova University. He liked the coach, Jay Wright, and the team's playing style. Darryl received a scholarship offer to Villanova.
College Basketball Career
Darryl Reynolds played for the Villanova Wildcats from 2013 to 2017. He worked hard to improve his game.
Freshman and Sophomore Years
In his first year, Darryl played only a little. He averaged 0.3 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, he started to get more playing time. He learned to play tougher by practicing against older teammates. Darryl said he "had to learn how to play a lot harder."
Becoming a National Champion
During his junior year, Darryl was an important player for Villanova. He helped the team win the national championship in 2016. This was a huge achievement for the team!
He had a great game against Creighton, getting 13 rebounds. In another game, he scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Providence. Darryl played in all six games of the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 3.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game that season.
Senior Year as a Starter
As a senior, Darryl became a starter for the Villanova team. He continued to play well. In a game against Purdue, he scored 12 points and had eight rebounds. He also had 12 points and eight rebounds against Penn. Darryl scored a season-high 13 points against Saint Joseph's. He averaged 4.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his final college season.

Playing in Poland
In August 2017, Darryl signed with a team called Start Lublin in Poland. He played one season there. He averaged 8.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. His team made it to the Polish Cup for the first time ever.

In May 2018, Darryl had a knee injury. While he was recovering, he started a talk show called "Stay Tuned with D.Rey." On his show, he interviewed Villanova basketball players and coaches.

In 2018, Darryl Reynolds returned to Villanova University.
Director of Player Development
He became the director of student athlete development for the Villanova basketball team. In this role, he helped guide the players. He helped the team achieve a 26–10 record and win the Big East championship in the 2018–19 season. Darryl left the coaching staff in October 2019.
