Daryn Wayne Colledge, born on February 11, 1982, is a former American football player. He played as an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. Daryn played college football for the Boise State Broncos. The Green Bay Packers chose him in the 2006 NFL draft. He won Super Bowl XLV with the Packers against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After that, he played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins.

Growing Up in Alaska

Daryn Colledge was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. He grew up in a nearby town called North Pole. Daryn went to North Pole High School. There, he was a top defensive lineman for his school team, the Patriots.

College Football Career

Colledge played college football at Boise State University. At that time, the university was part of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). He was a starter for the Broncos for four years. Their head coach was Dan Hawkins.

College Achievements

Daryn was chosen for the All-WAC team twice. He was also named an All-American by College Football News in 2004 and 2005. In 2003, he was a second-team selection as a sophomore. Colledge was one of 38 players from Boise State who have been drafted into the NFL since 2000. In college, Daryn played as an offensive tackle for the Boise State Broncos.

Playing for the Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers picked Daryn Colledge in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft. He was the 47th player chosen overall. This was the highest a player from Alaska had ever been drafted. When he joined the Packers, he changed his position from offensive tackle to offensive guard.

In his fifth and final season with Green Bay in 2010, the Packers had a great year. They won Super Bowl XLV by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31–25. After this big win, Daryn became a free agent. This meant he could sign with any team he wanted.

Time with the Arizona Cardinals

On July 29, 2011, Daryn Colledge announced that he had agreed to a five-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. He played for the Cardinals for three seasons.

In March 2014, the Cardinals decided to release Daryn. This meant he would become a free agent again. By waiting a few days to release him, the Cardinals were able to manage their team's salary cap better.

Joining the Miami Dolphins

On June 30, 2014, the Miami Dolphins signed Daryn Colledge. He joined them as a free agent on a one-year contract worth $2 million. He received $250,000 of that money when he signed.

After the 2014 season, Daryn Colledge decided to retire from playing professional football.

Life After Football

On March 22, 2016, Daryn Colledge announced that he had joined the Idaho Army National Guard. During his time in the National Guard, he flew Black Hawk UH-60 helicopters. He also served one tour in Afghanistan.

After finishing his service with the Idaho Army National Guard, Colledge returned to his old college, Boise State. In November 2021, he was named the director of development and Varsity B coordinator for the university.
