Daule is a lively city in central Guayas, Ecuador. It sits right on the Daule River. This city is the main town, or seat, of Daule Canton. It was officially created on November 26, 1820.

Daule is famous for its rice! People call it the "rice capital of Ecuador" because so much rice is grown there. In 2022, about 161,498 people lived in Daule. This makes it the fourteenth largest city in Ecuador.

Daule is also part of the bigger Guayaquil area. Many people who live in Daule travel to Guayaquil for work or school every day. It's like a "dormitory city" where people sleep, but they do much of their daily activities in a nearby larger city.

Celebrating Daule's Culture and History

Every year on September 14, Daule celebrates a special event. It's called the "El Señor de Los Milagros" festival. On this day, people visit the El Señor de los Milagros church. At night, everyone enjoys watching amazing fireworks light up the sky!

The city of Daule got its name from an old indigenous tribe. This tribe was known as the Daulis.

In 2022, something important happened for the local church. On February 2, Pope Francis created a new church area. It is now known as the Roman Catholic Diocese of Daule.

Daule's Weather

Daule has a warm and tropical climate. It's usually hot and humid, especially during the rainy season. The city gets a lot of rain from January to April. The drier months are from June to December. This weather is perfect for growing rice!
