David Amber (born April 21, 1971) is a Canadian sportscaster. He is a host and reporter for Sportsnet, a major sports channel in Canada. Many people know him from his time on NHL On the Fly on the NHL Network. He also hosted shows like Gate 5 Live and Raptors Pregame on NBA TV Canada. Before joining Sportsnet, he worked as an anchor and reporter for ESPN in the United States.

Early Career in Sports
Amber began appearing on ESPN networks in 2002. He was based in Toronto, Canada, but his work was seen across North America. He helped report for popular shows like SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight. He also covered college basketball for College GameDay.
Since 2006, Amber worked as a reporter, bringing live updates from major sports events. He covered the exciting NBA Finals and the MLB postseason. He also reported from the sidelines during NCAA football games.

David Amber is married and has two children. His older sister, Jeannine Amber, is also a successful writer. She graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is an award-winning Senior Writer at Essence magazine, which is based in New York City. She has also written an award-winning book.
