David Anthony Durham (born March 23, 1969) is an American writer. He writes exciting stories, often about history or fantasy worlds.
His books have won important awards. They have also been translated into many different languages. Some of his stories are even being made into movies!

David Anthony Durham writes two main types of books: historical fiction and fantasy.
Historical Adventures
His first book, Gabriel's Story, is about African American settlers. It takes place in the American West.
Another book, Walk Through Darkness, tells the story of a runaway slave. This happens during the time leading up to the American Civil War.
Pride of Carthage is a historical novel about a famous general. It follows Hannibal Barca from Ancient Carthage. The story is about his war against the Roman Republic.
Fantasy Worlds
David Anthony Durham also writes epic fantasy. His Acacia Trilogy is a series of three books. These books are:
- Acacia: The War with the Mein
- Acacia: The Other Lands
- Acacia: The Sacred Band
In 2016, he wrote another historical novel called The Risen: A Novel of Spartacus. This book is about the famous gladiator Spartacus.

David Anthony Durham was born in New York City. His parents came from the Caribbean. He has also lived in Scotland for several years.
