David Bruce is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He was born on October 7, 1964, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. David played as a left wing for several teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), including the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, and San Jose Sharks.

David Bruce's Hockey Journey

David Bruce started his hockey career playing for the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He was a strong player, scoring many goals and points. In his second season with the Rangers (1983–84), he scored an amazing 52 goals and 40 assists, totaling 92 points! This showed everyone he was a talented scorer.

Joining the NHL

Because of his great performance, David was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 1983. He was the 30th player picked overall. He started playing professionally in 1984, mostly in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Fredericton Express. He made his NHL debut with the Canucks in the 1985–86 season.

David played for the Canucks for a few seasons, showing his tough style of play. He scored 9 goals and 7 assists in the 1986–87 season.

Moving to Other Leagues

After his time with the Canucks, David played in the IHL. He had some of his best scoring years there. For example, in the 1990–91 season with the Peoria Rivermen, he scored an incredible 64 goals and 52 assists, adding up to 116 points! This helped his team win the championship that year.

He also played briefly for the St. Louis Blues in the NHL during the 1990–91 season.

Playing for the San Jose Sharks

In the 1991–92 season, David joined the San Jose Sharks. He had a good season with the Sharks, scoring 22 goals and 16 assists. He continued to play for the Sharks for a couple more seasons, while also spending time with the Kansas City Blades in the IHL.

Later Career

David spent many years with the Kansas City Blades, where he was a key player. He continued to score many goals, including 45 goals in the 1996–97 season. He finished his professional career in 1999, playing one season in Germany for EV Landshut in the DEL.

David Bruce was known for his strong play and ability to score goals throughout his career in different leagues.
