David Dayne Glass (born September 2, 1935 – died January 9, 2020) was an important American businessman. He was born in Oregon County, Missouri. He became famous for leading two major organizations. From 1988 to 2000, he was the President and chief executive officer (CEO) of Walmart, a very large retail company. He also owned the Kansas City Royals baseball team.

Leading Walmart

David Glass took over as CEO of Walmart in 1988. This was a big job, as Walmart was already a huge company. As CEO, he was in charge of all the company's operations. He helped Walmart grow even bigger during his time there. He made sure the stores ran smoothly and that customers were happy. He retired from Walmart in 2000.

Owning the Kansas City Royals

After leaving Walmart, David Glass became the owner of the Kansas City Royals baseball team. He bought the team in 2000. He was very dedicated to the team and its fans. He worked to improve the team and its stadium. In August 2019, he agreed to sell the team. He sold it to John Sherman, who was a vice chairman for the Cleveland Indians at the time.
