David Jarolím (born on May 17, 1979) is a Czech football manager and former player. He played as a central midfielder and was known for his great energy, excellent passing, and technical skills. He last managed the team Ústí nad Labem.

Playing Career Highlights

David Jarolím started his football journey in Čáslav, Czechoslovakia. He began his professional career with SK Slavia Prague. Even as a teenager, he moved to the famous German club Bayern Munich.

Time at Bayern Munich

From 1997 to 2000, David was part of Bayern Munich. It's a huge club, but he only played in one official match for their main team. He spent most of his time playing for their reserve team, Bayern Munich II, where he gained valuable experience.

Moving to 1. FC Nürnberg

Before the 2000–01 season, Jarolím joined 1. FC Nürnberg, a team in Germany's second division, the 2. Bundesliga. He helped them get promoted to the top league. In the 2001–02 season, he became a very important player for Nürnberg. His strong performances caught the eye of other big clubs.

Years with Hamburger SV

After Nürnberg was relegated in 2003, David Jarolím moved to Hamburger SV. This transfer happened a bit earlier than planned, allowing him to join Hamburg for the 2003–04 season. He quickly became a key player for Hamburg. When star player Rafael van der Vaart left, David even became the team captain. He played for Hamburg for many years, from 2003 to 2012, showing his dedication and skill.

International Football

David Jarolím also played for his country, the Czech Republic. He first played for the Czech Republic's Under-21 team.

Playing for the Czech National Team

He made his debut for the senior Czech Republic national team on October 8, 2005. He was chosen to play in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, but he didn't get much playing time. During the qualifiers for UEFA Euro 2008, he often came on as a substitute. He even scored a goal in a big 7–0 win against San Marino. He played in all three matches at the tournament, but the Czech team didn't make it past the group stage.

Football runs in David Jarolím's family! His father, Karel Jarolím, was also a professional football player and later coached the Czech Republic national team. David's older brother, Lukáš Jarolím, and his cousin, Marek Jarolím, are also professional football players. It's a real football family!

Coaching Career

After he stopped playing football at the end of the 2013–14 season, David Jarolím started a new chapter as a coach and manager.

Early Coaching Roles

He first became the sporting director for FK Mladá Boleslav. In September 2019, he was appointed manager of Olympia Radotín. He left that club at the end of the season. Shortly after, in September 2019, he became the manager of SK Rakovník. However, he only stayed there for nine days before leaving due to personal reasons.

In January 2020, David Jarolím took on a role as the Under-19 manager for FC Slavoj Vyšehrad.

Managing Ústí nad Labem

In December 2020, Jarolím signed a contract to manage Ústí nad Labem. He managed the team until 2022.
