David Hugh Murray (born December 28, 1909 – died April 5, 1973) was a cool racing driver from Scotland. He raced in five big Formula One World Championship races, starting his first one on May 13, 1950. David also started his own Scottish racing team called Ecurie Ecosse, which was based in Edinburgh.

Before racing, David was an accountant. He drove cars like the ERA and Maserati 4CLT in races both in the UK and across Europe. Then, in 1952, he created his famous Ecurie Ecosse team. He even competed in rallies and hill-climb races, which are super challenging!

After racing in one World Championship event for his own team, David decided to stop driving. He wanted to focus all his energy on managing Ecurie Ecosse.
