David Rosengarten (born January 25, 1950) is a well-known American chef, author, and television personality. He hosted or co-hosted over 2,500 TV shows on the Food Network between 1994 and 2001.

About David Rosengarten

David Rosengarten was born in New York City. His father, Leonard Rosengarten, worked in the garment industry. His mother was Lorraine Stein.

He married Constance Childs on October 15, 1983. Their wedding was even catered by famous TV personality Martha Stewart. David has two daughters, Andrea and Sarah, and a son, Bjorn. His daughters often appeared on his Food Network cooking show, Taste. His son, Bjorn, has worked behind the scenes for TV shows and studied sound engineering.

David went to Colgate University and earned a degree in 1971. He also has a doctorate in dramatic literature from Cornell University. Before becoming a food expert, he was a professor of theater at Skidmore College.

Writing and Publications

David Rosengarten has written for many popular magazines and newspapers. From 1995 to 1999, he was an editor for Gourmet Magazine. He also reviewed restaurants in New York City for them.

He wrote articles for major US newspapers like The New York Times and New York Daily News. He was also the weekly wine columnist for Newsday.
