David Thirdkill's NBA Journey
David Thirdkill was chosen by the Phoenix Suns team in the 1982 NBA draft. This means he was picked to join a professional team right after college. He was the 15th player picked overall in the first round!
He was a small forward, which is a position in basketball. David is 6 feet 7 inches tall. He played college basketball at the College of Southern Idaho and Bradley University.

He returned to the Philippines in 1988 to play for a new team, the Purefoods TJ Hotdogs. He led them to the finals again.
Playing in Europe and Israel
After the Philippines, David played basketball in Europe. He played in Italy for Virtus Roma and in France for Chorale Roanne Basket and Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball.
He then spent five years playing in Israel, mostly for a team called Hapoel Tel Aviv. He was a very important player there. In 1993, he was named the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP, which means he was the most valuable player in the entire league! He also won the Israeli Basketball State Cup in 1993.
David Thirdkill retired from playing professional basketball in 1996.
