David Rodríguez Trueba (born on September 10, 1969) is a talented Spanish filmmaker and author. He is known for directing and writing many movies, TV shows, and books.

David Trueba was born in Madrid, Spain, on September 10, 1969. He was the youngest of eight children in his family. His older brother, Fernando Trueba, is also a well-known filmmaker.
David studied journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid. Later, he took a special one-year course in scriptwriting at the American Film Institute. This is where he wrote the first version of the script for a movie called The Worst Years of Our Lives.
He was married to actress Ariadna Gil.
