Davidee Kavik was born in Sanikiluaq. He grew up to become a talented artist. In 1968, his artwork was shown in a special exhibit just for him. This show took place at the Lofthouse Galleries in Ottawa, Canada's capital city.

Davidee Kavik's beautiful carvings are now kept in many famous museums around the world. You can find his art in places like the British Museum in London. His work is also in the National Gallery of Canada and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. In the United States, his art is displayed at the University of Michigan Museum of Art and the National Museum of the American Indian.
