Defne Samyeli's Early Life and Career
Defne Samyeli was born in Istanbul, Turkey. Her father was an admiral, and her mother was a hotel manager. When she was 19, in 1991, she came in third place in a beauty contest in Turkey.
Defne studied at Boğaziçi University. She started her career as a journalist. She worked as a news reporter for Kanal D's main news program. She even won two international awards for her unique way of presenting the news.

Defne Samyeli has written for several newspapers, including Milliyet and Güneş. She was also the editor and presenter of the main news program for Show TV. In 2010, she hosted a show called Defne Her şey Bambaşka on ATV. She continued writing for Milliyet until 2015.
