Dellwood (sometimes spelled Delwood) is a small community in Adams County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It's known as a census-designated place, which means it's an area that looks like a town but isn't officially governed as one.

Dellwood is located west of a village called Friendship. It sits within the larger area known as Strongs Prairie. In 2010, about 563 people lived in Dellwood.

History of Dellwood

How Dellwood Started

Dellwood began as a summer vacation spot in the 1920s. A builder from Chicago named Simon P. Linehan created this resort. He called it "The Dellwood."

Linehan's company bought about 3,000 acres of land. This land was along the Wisconsin River. It was located a couple of miles south of a small village called Holmsville.

Changing the Name

After the resort was built, the people living in Holmsville decided to change their village's name. They renamed it Dellwood, after the new resort.
