Discovering Delta's Past
The first people settled in the area that is now Delta in the 1830s. A post office was opened in 1837, helping the community grow. Delta officially became a village around 1863.

Delta covers an area of about 8.17 square kilometers (3.16 square miles), and all of it is land. The village is part of the Maumee River watershed, meaning water from Delta eventually flows into this river. A smaller stream called Bad Creek also runs through the village.
Major Roads in Delta
Several important roads pass through Delta, making it easy to travel.
- Alternate U.S. Route 20 and State Route 2 go through the village from east to west.
- State Route 109 runs north to south.
- The Ohio Turnpike is a major highway located about two miles north of Delta. There's an exit at the intersection of State Route 109 and the Ohio Turnpike.
