Demajagua is a small area, or barrio, located in the town of Fajardo, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 1,430 people lived there.
History of Demajagua
Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War. This happened because of an agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898.
In 1899, the U.S. government counted the people in Puerto Rico. They found that Demajagua and a nearby area called Cabezas had a total of 1,168 residents.
