Demetria Dyan McKinney (born August 27, 1979) is a talented American actress, model, and singer. Many people know her from the TV show Tyler Perry's House of Payne, where she played Janine Shelton-Payne from 2006 to 2012. The show even came back in 2020, and she returned!
Demetria has also starred in other TV series like The Rickey Smiley Show, Saints & Sinners, and Superstition. She also appeared in Motherland: Fort Salem.
On stage, she played important roles like Coretta Scott King in the musical I Dream in 2010. She also starred as Deena Jones in a 2012 show of Dreamgirls. In 2017, Demetria played the famous singer Whitney Houston in the TV movie Bobbi Kristina. She also released her first music album, Officially Yours, in 2017.

Demetria McKinney has been in many of Tyler Perry's stage plays. These include Meet The Browns, Why Did I Get Married, and Madea's Family Christmas. She became well-known for her role as Janine Shelton-Payne on the comedy series Tyler Perry's House of Payne. She was on the show from 2006 to 2012.
Her acting was so good that she was nominated for an award in 2009 for her work on House of Payne. She later came back to play Janine in the spin-off show The Paynes in 2018. Demetria has also made guest appearances on popular shows like Necessary Roughness, Drop Dead Diva, Devious Maids, Chicago Med, and Being Mary Jane. She was also a recurring cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

From 2012 to 2014, Demetria was a regular on the TV One comedy series The Rickey Smiley Show. In 2016, she joined the cast of the TV soap opera Saints & Sinners as Tamara Austin.
In 2017, she starred alongside Mario Van Peebles in the horror drama Superstition. Also in 2017, Demetria played Whitney Houston in the TV movie Bobbi Kristina. This movie was about Whitney Houston and her daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
Demetria also had a recurring role in the BET drama series The Quad from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, she played a main role in the Christmas movie A Stone Cold Christmas.
