Demetrius Shipp Jr. (born November 20, 1988) is an American actor. He is best known for playing the famous rapper and actor Tupac Shakur in the 2017 movie All Eyez on Me. A movie like this, which tells the story of a real person's life, is called a biopic. He also played gang leader Tyrone Moore in the TV show All American.

Acting Career

Before becoming an actor, Demetrius Shipp Jr. worked at companies like Target and Dish Network. He had never planned on a career in acting.

Playing Tupac Shakur

In 2011, a friend told Shipp he should try out for the role of Tupac Shakur. This was because he looked so much like the legendary hip-hop star. Shipp got the part, but filming for the movie didn't start until 2015. The movie was finally released in 2017.

Interestingly, Shipp's father had a connection to Tupac. His dad was a music producer who worked with Tupac on the song "Toss It Up" from the 1996 album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.
