Denise Gough (born 28 February 1980) is a talented Irish actress. She is well-known for her exciting roles in TV shows like Paula (2017), Too Close (2021), and the popular Disney+ series Andor (2022–). She has also starred in movies such as Colette (2018) and Martyrs Lane (2021). Denise has won many important awards, including two Laurence Olivier Awards, which are like the biggest awards for theatre in the UK! She was also nominated for a Tony Award and a British Academy Television Award.

Early Life and Training
Denise Gough was born in Wexford, Ireland, and grew up in Ennis, County Clare. She comes from a big family, being the seventh of eleven children! Her younger sister, Kelly Gough, is also an actress. Before she became an actress, Denise trained to be a soprano, which is a type of singer. When she was 15, she moved from Ireland to London. At 18, she received a special grant to study acting at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London, and she finished her studies there in 2003.
Amazing Theatre Work
Denise Gough is very famous for her work in theatre. In 2012, she was nominated for an award for being a great new talent for her roles in plays like Desire Under the Elms and Our New Girl.
In 2015, she gave an amazing performance in a play called People, Places and Things at the National Theatre in London. She played a character who was trying to recover from a difficult time. Her performance was so good that when the play moved to another theatre in 2016, she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress. This is one of the highest honours an actor can receive in British theatre!
She returned to the National Theatre in 2017 to play Harper in a new version of the play Angels in America. For this role, she won another Laurence Olivier Award in 2018, this time for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Later, she performed in Angels in America on Broadway in New York City, which is a very famous theatre district.
