Dennis Williams (born June 27, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for teams like Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel and FC Barcelona Banca Catalana in Spain. He was known for being a top scorer in the Israeli Basketball Premier League in 1993.

Early Life and College Basketball

Dennis Williams was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He grew up there and later became a talented basketball player.

He played college basketball for the University of Georgia. He was a guard for the Bulldogs for four seasons, from 1983 to 1987. During his time at Georgia, he averaged 8.9 points in each game. In his final year (1986–87), he averaged 15.7 points per game. He was also good at stealing the ball, ranking 6th in the Southeastern Conference with 50 steals that season.

Professional Career

After college, Dennis Williams was chosen in the 1987 NBA draft. The San Antonio Spurs picked him in the 5th round as the 96th overall pick.

Playing in Israel

Williams played two seasons for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League. This was from 1987 to 1989. He was a strong scorer, averaging 23.6 points per game. He later became the top scorer in the Israeli Basketball Premier League in 1993.

Playing in Spain and the CBA

In the 1993–94 season, Williams played for FC Barcelona Banca Catalana. This team competes in Spain's top league, the Liga ACB, and also in the EuroLeague, which is a major European competition. He averaged 13.2 points per game for Barcelona.

Williams also spent parts of two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). This was a professional league in the United States. He played for three different teams in the CBA: the Albany Patroons, the Oklahoma City Cavalry, and the Yakima Sun Kings. Across 53 games in the CBA, he averaged 13.2 points.
