Densmore is a small, unincorporated community located in Norton County, Kansas, in the United States. It's not a city or town with its own government, but rather a group of homes and buildings. You can find it about two miles east of the city of Edmond, close to K-9 highway.

History

Densmore has a long history, even though it's a small place. It was first settled in the 1880s.

Early Transportation

Densmore was once an important stop on the Missouri Pacific Railroad. This meant trains would stop there, which helped the community grow.

Post Office Services

The community had its own post office for a very long time. It opened in 1880 and served the people of Densmore until 1992.

Education

Students in Densmore attend public schools managed by the Logan USD 326. A Unified School District brings together several smaller school districts.

Densmore High School

Densmore used to have its own high school. It was called Densmore High School. The school's sports teams were known as the Warriors. However, the high school closed in 1965. This happened because of something called "school unification," where smaller schools combine to form larger ones.
