Akosua Dentaa Amoateng, known as Dentaa, is a British-Ghanaian entrepreneur, actress, and TV presenter. She was born in 1983. Dentaa is also a singer and producer. She has done a lot to help the Ghanaian community in the UK.

She received an MBE award in 2016 for her great work. In 2017, she also won the Ghana Peace Awards for her help to others. Later, she became the International Relations Manager for a football club called Asante Kotoko S.C..

Dentaa has appeared on British TV shows like EastEnders and Holby City. She also hosted her own show, The Dentaa Show. She even had a short career as a singer, releasing a gospel album in 2005.

Dentaa is a strong supporter of the Ghanaian community in the UK. In 2009, she started the GUBA Awards. These awards celebrate people and groups who help the Ghanaian community in the UK or Ghana. She was named a "Young Social Entrepreneur" in 2011 for her work with GUBA.

In 2013, Dentaa won the African Women in Europe (AWE) Award. This was for her work in promoting Ghanaian achievements. She was called a "role model" for African women in Europe. Dentaa currently lives in London, England.

Dentaa was born in Juaso, Ghana. When she was five, her family moved to the UK. From a young age, she loved performing in school plays.

TV Shows and Music

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Dentaa acted in British TV dramas. These included EastEnders, Holby City, and Prime Suspect.

In 2005, she released a gospel music album. It was called Wu Ye Nyame. Her music was played on radio stations in Ghana. Dentaa went on a world tour to support her album.

The Dentaa Show

In 2006, Dentaa created and hosted The Dentaa Show. This TV show was for OBE TV. It was a 30-minute program about Ghanaian and African entertainment.

The show featured interviews with celebrities. It also covered entertainment events and music videos. The Dentaa Show became Ghana's most-watched entertainment program. It ran for three seasons.

Other TV Appearances

Dentaa co-hosted Miss Ghana UK in 2007. The next year, she co-hosted Mentor IV. This was Ghana's version of The X Factor.

In 2009, she co-hosted the Ghana Music Awards. She also presented Ghana's first make-over show in 2010. It was called Darling Beauty Diaries.

In 2012, Dentaa returned to TV with a new show. It was called Dinner with Dentaa. On this show, celebrity guests cooked for her.

GUBA Awards

Dentaa is the founder and CEO of the GUBA Awards. GUBA stands for Ghana UK Based Achievement. This non-profit group holds an annual awards ceremony in Britain.

The awards celebrate the important contributions of British-Ghanaians. Dentaa started the awards in 2009. The first ceremony was in London in 2010. She wanted to create something that honored her Ghanaian heritage.

GUBA was the first awards ceremony of its kind for Ghanaians. Many important people and groups have supported it. This includes former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Dentaa's work with GUBA has been recognized. She was named a "Young Social Entrepreneur" in 2011. She also received the African Women in Europe (AWE) Award in 2013.

Football Connections

Dentaa has strong ties to the world of football. She manages Asamoah Gyan, a famous Ghanaian striker. She also helped Emmanuel Frimpong join Ghana's national team.

In 2018, at age six, Awiyah launched her own hair brand for children. In 2020, she also released her own Shea butter and black soap products.
