About Desert Tobacco
Desert tobacco is a type of plant that lives for many years. It is called a "perennial herb" because it comes back each year. It can grow to be about 80 centimeters (or 31 inches) tall.
What Does It Look Like?
The leaves of the desert tobacco plant can be up to 10 centimeters (about 4 inches) long. The leaves closer to the bottom of the plant have short stalks, which are called petioles. The leaves higher up on the stem are smaller and wrap around the stem.
The flowers of this plant are shaped like a funnel. They are usually white, but sometimes they have a slight green color. The tube-like part of the flower can be up to 2.6 centimeters (about 1 inch) long.
