Discovering Devonshire Mall
Devonshire Mall first opened its doors in 1970. It was built on the land where a horse racing track, called Devonshire Raceway, used to be. That race track had been a part of Windsor since 1935.
Growing Bigger: Mall Expansions
Since it first opened, Devonshire Mall has grown a lot! It has been made bigger several times over the years. These expansions happened in 1981, 1996, 2002, 2008, and 2018. Today, with more than 175 stores, it is the largest shopping mall in Windsor.
Who Owns and Manages the Mall?
In 2015, the Devonshire Mall was sold by a company called Ivanhoé Cambridge. It was bought by the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan. This organization helps manage retirement funds for healthcare workers in Ontario. Currently, the mall is managed by a company called Cushman & Wakefield. They help make sure the mall runs smoothly every day.
