History of Di Giorgio
The first post office in Di Giorgio opened in 1944. The community was named after Joseph Di Giorgio. He was an important person in farming and started the DiGiorgio Corporation.
Di Giorgio is also located above a large area called the Mountain View Oil Field. This oil field has many spots where oil is found. Di Giorgio gives its name to one of these important oil-producing areas.
