Her Time in Europe
In 2004, Diamanto Manolakou was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). This means she represented Greece in the European Parliament. The European Parliament is a big group of elected officials from countries across Europe. They work together to make laws for the entire European Union.
While she was an MEP, she was part of a group called the European United Left–Nordic Green Left. She served as an MEP until June 5, 2008. At that time, she decided to resign from her European role. She did this to take a seat in the Greek Parliament instead.
