Diana Beauclerk, Duchess of St Albans (born Lady Diana de Vere around 1679 – died January 15, 1742), was an important person at the British royal court. She served as the Mistress of the Robes for Caroline, Princess of Wales, from 1714 to 1717. This role meant she was in charge of the Princess's clothes and jewelry.

Diana was also known as one of the "Hampton Court Beauties." This was a group of beautiful and influential women at the court of Mary II of England. Their portraits were painted and displayed at Hampton Court Palace.

Diana's Family and Marriage

Diana was the daughter of Aubrey de Vere, 20th Earl of Oxford, and Diana Kirke. Her family, the de Veres, was very old and noble.

On April 17, 1694, Diana married Charles Beauclerk, 1st Duke of St Albans. Charles was a son of King Charles II and Nell Gwynne. After her marriage, Diana became the Duchess of St Albans.

Together, Diana and Charles had many children, twelve in total. Their first son was Charles Beauclerk, 2nd Duke of St Albans, who was born in 1696. Among their other children were Vere Beauclerk, 1st Baron Vere, who became an Admiral, and Lord James Beauclerk, who later became a Bishop.

Diana Beauclerk passed away on January 15, 1742, at Windsor Castle in England.
