How Diario Frontera Started
Diario Frontera was created on August 12, 1978. José Benedicto Monsalve started it with writer Rafael Ángel Gallegos. Rafael Ángel Gallegos was the first director of the newspaper.
At first, the newspaper was printed in black and white. It used a special printing machine from another newspaper called Diario Critica.
In the 1980s, Diario Frontera became a newspaper for everyone. It was still printed in black and white and had 20 pages. Since 1989, it has included a special page or section about the University of the Andes. This is because many students attend the university, and it is very important to the city.
In 2008, Diario Frontera celebrated its 30th anniversary. For this special occasion, the newspaper updated its look. They changed their logo and the style of their letters.
