Diederrick Joel Tagueu Tadjo (born on December 6, 1993), known as Joel Tagueu or just Joel, is a professional football player from Cameroon. He plays as a striker, which means he tries to score goals. Joel currently plays for the Brazilian club Paysandu.

Joel Tagueu's Football Journey
Starting in Brazil: Londrina
Joel was born in Nkongsamba, Cameroon. In September 2009, he moved to Brazil to start his football career. He joined the youth team of Iraty. In March 2011, he moved to Londrina, another club owned by the same person. Joel quickly showed his talent in the youth teams. He joined Londrina's main team in 2012.
Joel played his first game for Londrina on March 28, 2012. He came into the game late as a substitute. Just four days later, he scored his first goal for the team. In 2014, Joel was a very important player for Londrina. He helped them win the Campeonato Paranaense championship. He also scored many goals in another league called Série D.
Playing for Coritiba (on loan)
On September 4, 2014, Joel joined Coritiba on a temporary deal called a loan. He played his first game in Brazil's top league, Série A, just three days later. Joel scored his first goal in this top league on September 10. He scored two goals in another game a week later, helping his team win.
Moving to Cruzeiro
On December 16, 2014, Joel joined Cruzeiro, another big team in Brazil. He played his first game for Cruzeiro on February 1, 2015, and scored the winning goal. Cruzeiro fully bought Joel in May 2015. However, he had some injuries that year. He played in 11 league games and scored one goal.
Loan Spells at Other Clubs

Joel went on several loan spells to other clubs to get more playing time.
- On January 11, 2016, he was loaned to Santos for one year. He played his first game for Santos on January 30.
- On January 19, 2017, Joel signed a one-year loan deal with Botafogo.
- On June 20, 2017, he was loaned to Avaí until the end of the year.
- On January 8, 2018, Joel was loaned to Marítimo, a club in Portugal's top league, Primeira Liga.
Back at Cruzeiro
In June 2019, Joel had a medical condition that kept him from playing. In October 2019, he returned to Cruzeiro and started training with the team again.
Playing for Marítimo
On August 7, 2020, Joel signed a two-year contract to play permanently for Marítimo in Portugal. He played many games for them over the next few years.
Playing for Al-Hazem
On January 18, 2023, Joel joined Al-Hazem, a club in Saudi Arabia, on a loan deal.
Playing for Hanoi FC
On September 11, 2023, Hanoi FC, a team in Vietnam's top league, V.League 1, announced they had signed Joel. He made his first appearance for Hanoi FC on September 20 in the AFC Champions League, where he scored two goals. On October 29, he played his first V.League 1 game and scored three goals!
Joel's International Career
Joel also played for his home country, Cameroon. He was supposed to play in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, a big football tournament, but he could not because of a medical condition.
