Diego Polo the Younger (born in 1620, died in 1655) was a Spanish painter. He lived during the Baroque period, a time when art was very dramatic and grand. Diego was born in Burgos, a city in Spain. He was the nephew of another painter, also named Diego Polo. Diego Polo the Younger learned his painting skills from a teacher named Antonio Lanchares.

About Diego Polo's Art

Diego Polo the Younger created many paintings for churches in Madrid. One of his famous works was The Baptism of Christ. He painted this for a church belonging to the Carmelites. He also painted an Annunciation for the church of Santa Maria.
