Diessenhofen (district) facts for kids
Diessenhofen was once a special area, like a small region, in Switzerland. It was part of the canton called Thurgau. Think of a canton like a state or a large county. The main town, or "capital city," of this area was also named Diessenhofen.
What is a District?
A district is a way to divide up a larger area, like a canton, into smaller parts. These smaller parts help with local government and managing things like schools and roads. Diessenhofen was one of these districts, but it doesn't exist as a district anymore. It's now part of a different way Switzerland organizes its regions.
Towns in the Diessenhofen District
The Diessenhofen district included a few important towns, which are called municipalities. These towns worked together as part of the district.
- Basadingen-Schlattingen
- Diessenhofen (the main town)
- Schlatt bei Diessenhofen
These towns are still important places today, even though the district itself has changed.
