Dilhani Ashokamala Ekanayake (Sinhala: දිල්හානි ඒකනායක) is a famous actress from Sri Lanka. She was born on March 4, 1970. She acts in movies, plays, and TV shows. Many people know her as one of the most popular actresses in Sinhala cinema. She has won many awards for her acting.

About Dilhani Ekanayake's Life
Dilhani Ekanayake went to St Clare's girls school in Colombo. She is married to Priyankara Perera, who is a singer and actor. Priyankara's father was also a famous singer named Milton Perera. Dilhani and Priyankara have a son named Dilmin Perera.
Dilhani Ekanayake's Acting Career
Before becoming a movie star, Dilhani performed in ballets. In 1987, she was in a ballet called Ukussa with Channa Wijewardena.
Starting in Movies
Dilhani Ekanayake started her movie career in 1991. Her first film was Dedunnen Samanaliyak, directed by Yasapalitha Nanayakkara. In that same year, she won the Sarasaviya award for the Best Upcoming Actress. In 1992, she won the award for the Most Popular Actress at the same festival.
Becoming a Star
At first, Dilhani mostly acted in fun, commercial movies. People loved her dancing skills and her famous smile. She became known as the Sridevi of Sri Lanka, like the famous Indian actress.
Her career changed when she took on a serious role in the film Me Mage Sandai. In this movie by Asoka Handagama, she played a Tamil girl who was left alone. This role helped her get other important parts in movies like Sudu Kalu Saha Alu (Shades of Grey), Mage Wam Atha (My Left Hand), and Sulanga (Wind).
In 2005, she won the Best Actress award at the Sarasaviya Festival for her role in Sudu Kalu Saha Alu. In 2007, she won the Presidential award for Best Actress for her part in Sulanga.
Other Notable Roles
Dilhani has also played memorable roles in films such as Mage Wam Atha, Sulanga, Me Mage Sandai, Sudu Kalu Saha Alu, Pem Kekula, Nilambare, and Gamani. She also appeared in many comedy films like Cheriyo Darling and Chaya Maya.

Even though she is known for movies, Dilhani has also acted in many TV dramas. Some of her well-known TV shows include Maya Ranga, Swarna Kingkini, Meeduma, Sath Sanda Kirana, and Amarapuraya.
She is a big part of Ridee Reyak, which is a very popular annual show in Sri Lanka featuring movie stars. She has also been a judge on TV shows like Ranawiru Real Star and Mega Star. Her recent TV dramas include Dhawala Doowili, Bharyawo, and Deviya Sugala. Dilhani has also been a brand ambassador for Lux.
