Dillon Quirke's Early Life
Dillon grew up in Rossmore, a small place in County Tipperary. His father, Dan Quirke, was also a hurler and won a big championship medal when he was younger. Dillon started playing hurling as a schoolboy at Rossmore National School. Later, he played for Thurles CBS, a well-known school for sports. In 2015, Dillon was part of the Thurles CBS team that won the Harty Cup. This is a very important school competition in hurling.
Playing for His Club
Dillon started his club hurling career with Clonoulty–Rossmore when he was young. He won two local championships with the club's minor (under-18) team in 2014 and 2015. He also helped his team win the Tipperary Under-21A Hurling Championship. In 2018, Dillon scored two points when Clonoulty–Rossmore won the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship final. This was a huge win for his club.
Playing for His County
Dillon first joined the Tipperary minor hurling team (under-18) in 2015. He was a substitute when Tipperary won the Munster final and later played in the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship final in 2016. In that game, he came on as a substitute and helped Tipperary win the All-Ireland medal.
After that, Dillon played for the Tipperary under-21 hurling team in 2018. He played as a left wing-back. That year, Tipperary beat Cork in the All-Ireland final, and Dillon was a key part of that winning team.
In 2018, Dillon was invited to train with the senior team. He made his first appearance for the senior team in 2020 in a league game against Limerick. Later that year, he made his championship debut. By 2022, Dillon was a regular player for the Tipperary senior team. He played in all four of Tipperary's games in the Munster Championship that year.

On August 5, 2022, Dillon Quirke was playing a club hurling match for Clonoulty–Rossmore at Semple Stadium. During the game, he collapsed. The match was stopped, and he was taken to the hospital, where he sadly passed away.
