Dimitrios Valvis (born 1808 or 1814 – died November 30, 1892) was an important Greek politician and judge. He briefly served as the Prime Minister of Greece in May 1886. This means he was the leader of the Greek government for a short time.

Early Life and Learning
Dimitrios Valvis was born in a town called Messolonghi in Greece. When he was older, he went to Pisa, Italy, to study law. Studying law means learning about rules and justice.
What He Did: His Career
Leading the Highest Court
From 1872 to 1885, Valvis was the President of the Court of Cassation. This is the highest court in Greece. It makes sure that laws are used correctly. Being its president was a very important job.
Becoming Prime Minister
In May 1886, Dimitrios Valvis became the Prime Minister of Greece. He was a "care-taker" Prime Minister. This means he led the government for a very short time. He stepped in between the terms of two other prime ministers, Theodoros Deligiannis and Charilaos Trikoupis.
His Family
Dimitrios Valvis had a brother named Zinovios Valvis. Interestingly, Zinovios also served as Prime Minister of Greece. He held the position two times, once in 1863 and again in 1864.
