Dina Neal, born in 1972, is an American politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Since November 4, 2020, she has served in the Nevada Senate. She represents District 4 in Nevada. Ms. Neal is also part of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. This group helps state lawmakers who are Black work together.

Education and Learning
Dina Neal studied at Southern University and A&M College. There, she earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Her main subject was political science, which is the study of how governments work. Later, she went to Southern University Law Center. She earned her Juris Doctor (JD) degree there. This degree is needed to become a lawyer.
Becoming a Legislator
Starting in the Assembly
In 2010, the District 7 seat in the Nevada Assembly became open. The previous Assemblyman, Morse Arberry, could not run again. This was because of a rule called term limits. Dina Neal decided to run for the seat.
She won the Democratic Primary election on June 8, 2010. She received 1,233 votes, which was 57.16% of all votes. Then, in the General election on November 2, 2010, she won again. She got 8,462 votes, or 77.45%, against her opponent.
Re-election to the Assembly
In 2012, Dina Neal ran for re-election to the Assembly. She won the Democratic Primary on June 12, 2012. She received 1,490 votes, which was 78.50%. In the General election on November 6, 2012, she won with 14,496 votes. This was 73.25% of the votes. Her opponent was Brent Leavitt from the Republican Party.
Moving to the Senate
On November 3, 2020, Dina Neal was elected to the Nevada Senate. She now represents the 4th district in the Senate.
About Her Life
Dina Neal's father is Joe Neal. He was also a member of the Nevada Senate. He served from 1973 to 2004. In 2020, Dina Neal was elected to the same Senate seat her father once held. She also works as a professor at Nevada State University.
