Dinar was a brave Georgian princess. She belonged to the Bagrationi dynasty, a very old royal family. Dinar became the Queen of Hereti in the 11th century. She is also considered a saint by the Georgian Orthodox Church, which remembers her on June 30 each year.

The Life of Queen Dinar
Early Life and Family
Dinar was the daughter of Adarnase III of Tao. He was a powerful ruler from a region called Tao-Klarjeti. His title, eristavt-eristavi, meant "duke of dukes." We don't know much about her mother.
Queen of Hereti
Dinar became Queen of Hereti. She was a very important leader. During the time her son, Ishkhanik, was king, Queen Dinar helped change Hereti. She led the kingdom to join the Georgian Orthodox Church. This was a big step for the region.
In 962, Queen Dinar and King Ishkhanik attended a special event. They were there for the election of a new leader for the church in Albania. This shows how important they were in the region.
Uniting Georgia
After the year 1000, the Kingdom of Hereti faced a big decision. They had to join a larger, united Georgia. This new kingdom was led by King Bagrat III. Queen Dinar was the main person representing Hereti at this time.
King Bagrat III led a campaign into Hereti. He captured Queen Dinar. She was very old at this time, likely over 90 years old.
Some historians believe Queen Dinar's grave was found. It might be at the Vahanavank Monastery, near the city of Kapan. The word "Dinar" was written on the grave in the Armenian alphabet.
Queen Dinar in Russia
Queen Dinar's story is also told in Russian history books. A famous story called The Tale of Tsaritsa Dinara might be about her.
Inside the Moscow Kremlin in Russia, there is a special painting. It's a fresco on the wall of the Throne Hall. This painting shows Queen Dinar riding a white horse. She looks like she is winning a battle against an enemy.
