Disko is a small place located in the state of Indiana, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of the larger Fulton and Wabash counties.
A Glimpse into Disko's Past
Disko has an interesting history! It wasn't always called Disko. When the community was first created in 1856, people knew it as New Harrisburg.
How Disko Got Its Name
A post office is a place where you can send and receive mail. A post office was opened in New Harrisburg in 1871. Then, in 1883, the name of the post office, and the community, was changed to Disko. The Disko post office served the community for many years until it closed down in 1967.
