Dolores (pronounced do-LOR-es) is a small town in the Alicante province of Spain. It is part of the Vega Baja del Segura region, which is known for its rich farmlands. The town is like a green oasis, surrounded by fields and gardens.

Dolores is located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) from beautiful beaches like La Marina and Guardamar. It's easy to get to, with major roads nearby. You can also reach the Alicante international airport in about 20 minutes. The town has around 7,400 people and covers an area of 18.25 square kilometers (7 square miles). The weather is usually warm, with temperatures ranging from 16°C (61°F) in winter to 28°C (82°F) in summer.

This area will have over 2,600 new homes and a large golf course. The plan was updated and approved by the regional government in 2008. This development is expected to be finished in the coming years, bringing more people and activities to Dolores.
