Sir Nicholas Dominic Cadbury, born on May 12, 1940, is a British businessman. He is part of the famous Cadbury family, known for making delicious chocolate. Sir Dominic also served as the sixth leader, or Chancellor, of the University of Birmingham. He finished his role there in 2014.

Early Life and Education
Sir Dominic Cadbury was born on May 12, 1940. His parents were Laurence John Cadbury and Joyce Cadbury. His grandfather was George Cadbury, a very important person in the Cadbury chocolate company.
Dominic went to Eton College for his early education. After that, he studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. He then traveled to the United States to earn his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Stanford University. An MBA is a special degree that teaches people how to manage businesses.
Career in Business
Sir Dominic Cadbury started working at Cadbury Schweppes in 1964. This company made both chocolate and drinks. He became a member of the company's main board in 1975.
From 1983 to 1993, he was the group chief executive. This meant he was in charge of running the entire company. After that, he became the chairman until he retired on his 60th birthday in May 2000.
Other Important Roles
Besides his work at Cadbury Schweppes, Sir Dominic held other important positions. He was the chairman of the Economist Group, which publishes a famous newspaper. He was also a joint deputy chairman at EMI, a big music company.
He was also a member of the Council of Management for the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. This group studies the economy. From November 2005, he was the chairman of Misys plc, a company that works with computer software.
Leading the University of Birmingham
On May 2, 2002, Sir Dominic Cadbury became the Chancellor of the University of Birmingham. The Chancellor is like the main leader or head of a university. He took over from Sir Alex Jarratt. Sir Dominic served in this important role until 2014, when Lord Bilimoria became the new Chancellor.
Family Life
Sir Dominic Cadbury married Cecilia Sarah Symes in 1972. They have three daughters together. His brother, Sir Adrian Cadbury, also worked as an executive at the Cadbury company.
Honours and Recognition
Sir Dominic Cadbury was given a special honour in 1997. He was knighted by the Queen. This means he was given the title "Sir" for his achievements and contributions.
