Donald Ray Pollock was born in 1954. He grew up in a place called Knockemstiff, Ohio. He has lived his whole adult life in Chillicothe, Ohio. For many years, he worked at a paper mill. He was a laborer and a truck driver there until he was 50 years old.
He went to Ohio University - Chillicothe. While he was there, he published his first collection of short stories. This book was titled Knockemstiff. His first novel, The ... All the Time, came out in 2011. His writings have appeared in many different literary magazines. These include Granta and Tin House. His most recent novel is called The Heavenly Table. It was published in 2016.
