Donato Malango was born in Los Angeles, California, United States. His father was a diplomat, which is why Donato was born there. When he was young, his family moved to Mozambique for two years. After that, they returned to Equatorial Guinea, where Donato spent his early childhood. He lived in Malabo, the capital city, until he was 12 years old. As a teenager, he moved to Madrid, Spain.
Playing for Clubs
Donato Malango played for a Spanish football club called Villaverde. He was part of their team during the 1997–1998 season. They competed in a regional division in Madrid.
Playing for His Country
Donato also played for his country, Equatorial Guinea. On 8 June 2003, he played in an important match. It was a qualifier for the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations. Donato and his brother, Andrés, helped their team win 2–1 against Gabon. This was a big moment for him and his country.
