Donna Meistrich (born February 28, 1954) is a talented American artist. She works with many materials like wax, paint, and clay. She is also a jewelry designer and an animator. Donna is famous for co-creating the "Tacky People" animated series. She made this show with her partner, Terry Blumberg.

Donna's Early Life and Education
Donna Meistrich was born in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up on Long Island with her two younger brothers. In 1972, she finished high school.
Later, Donna studied at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. This was from 1974 to 1978. She focused on illustration and graphic design there.
Donna's Creative Career
Donna Meistrich started her career as an independent designer. She worked in advertising. She also designed products for big companies. Some of her clients included Harley-Davidson and Rolling Stone magazine.
After working in advertising, Donna decided to make jewelry. She went to the College of Marin to learn more about this craft.
Designing for Movies
Donna also created special items for movies. She designed a custom ring for actor Jim Carrey. He wore it in the movie The Truman Show. She also built a dolphin ring for the film Independence Day.
For the movie Wild Wild West, Donna made several props. These included a "mesmerizer" and different spider props. Actor Will Smith starred in this movie.
Creating Tacky People
In 1987, Donna began to develop the idea of "Tacky People." She started with jewelry and small figurines. In 1978, she met Terry Blumberg in a drawing class. They became good friends.
In 1988, Donna and Terry started working together. They created the "Tacky People" cartoon series.
Other Artistic Projects
Donna Meistrich lives on Maui in 2023. She continues to create art using many different materials. These include wax, clay, wood, plaster, and stone. She has made models for snow villages and porcelain objects. She also designs dolls, toys, and gifts.
Since 1994, Donna has volunteered every year. She creates large chalk drawings at the Italian Street Painting Festival. Her drawings are usually 8 feet by 6 feet.
