Donnell Whittenburg (born August 18, 1994) is an American artistic gymnast. He is a key member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team. Donnell is known for his powerful performances, especially on the still rings, vault, and floor exercise.

Donnell Whittenburg: A Gymnastics Star
His Early Journey
Donnell Whittenburg was born on August 18, 1994, in Baltimore, Maryland. As a young person, he went to Edgewood High School. He later studied at a local community college and DeVry University. Donnell was coached by Abdul Mammeri when he was younger. He loved gymnastics so much that he moved to Colorado. There, he trained at the United States Olympic Training Center under coach Vitaly Marinich.
Amazing Gymnastics Achievements
Donnell Whittenburg is a very strong gymnast. His best events are the still rings, vault, and floor exercise. He has won many important medals throughout his career.
World Championships Medals
At the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Donnell helped the American team win a bronze medal. He performed well on floor, rings, vault, and parallel bars. The next year, at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, he won an individual bronze medal on the vault. He scored very high, showing his amazing skill. He also made it to the finals for the still rings event.
Pan American Games Success
Donnell has had great success at the Pan American Games. In 2015, he won a gold medal with the U.S. team in Toronto. He also earned three silver medals in individual events: floor, rings, and vault. In 2023, he again won team gold at the Pan American Games in Santiago. He also took home an individual gold medal on the rings and a bronze medal in the all-around competition.
Other Important Wins
In 2014, Donnell became the U.S. National champion on vault. In 2015, he won the U.S. national title on rings. He also won a gold medal in the all-around at the 2017 London World Cup. At the 2017 Koper World Challenge Cup in Slovenia, he won gold on parallel bars. He also earned silver medals on floor and vault at that event.
In 2022, Donnell finished second in the U.S. men's all-around competition. He was the top scorer on rings and second on vault. He also won two bronze medals at the 2022 World Challenge Cup in Paris.
In 2024, Donnell was chosen as a replacement athlete for the 2024 Summer Olympics. This means he was ready to step in if another team member couldn't compete.
