Donovan James Rose (born March 9, 1957) is a former American and Canadian football player. He played as a defensive back, which is a player who tries to stop the other team from catching passes or running with the ball. Donovan Rose played in both the National Football League (NFL) in the United States and the Canadian Football League (CFL) in Canada. After his playing career, he became a head coach for the Hampton Pirates college team.

His Time in the NFL
In the NFL, Donovan Rose played for two teams. He started his professional career with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1980. Later in his career, he also played for the Miami Dolphins from 1986 to 1987. He was known for his skills as a defensive back.
Playing in the CFL
Donovan Rose spent a good part of his career in the Canadian Football League. He played for three different teams there.
