Douwe Bob Posthuma (born on 12 December 1992) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. He is known by his first and middle names, Douwe Bob. He won a Dutch TV talent show called De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland. Douwe Bob sings folk and country music. He has released several albums and represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Douwe Bob Posthuma was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. His father, Simon Posthuma, was part of a design group called The Fool.
Douwe Bob started playing the piano when he was six years old. He first focused on classical music and jazz. At age 14, he began playing the guitar. He was inspired by country, folk, and pop music from the 1950s to the mid-1970s.
Music Career Highlights
Winning a Talent Show: 2012–2013
In 2012, Douwe Bob took part in a Dutch TV talent show. It was called De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland (The Best Singer-Songwriter of the Netherlands). He sang songs like "Standing Here Helpless" and "Icarus". In the final, he sang "Multicoloured Angels" and won the show. "Multicoloured Angels" became a hit song, reaching number 17 on the Dutch Top 40 music chart.
His first album, Born in a Storm, came out on 3 May 2013. Many of the songs were written during a trip to Morocco. In June 2013, Douwe Bob performed at the Pinkpop Festival.
New Music and Collaborations: 2014–2015
In 2014, Douwe Bob became an Ambassador of Freedom. This role involves promoting freedom and peace. In January 2015, he released a song called "Hold Me". He worked on this song with another Dutch singer, Anouk.
His second album, Pass It On, was released on 15 May 2015. It was released by Universal Music Group.
Eurovision and More Albums: 2016–Present
On 6 May 2016, Douwe Bob released his third album, Fool Bar. This album reached number four on the Dutch Albums Chart.
He represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. He sang the song "Slow Down" in Stockholm, Sweden. He made it to the final and finished in eleventh place. In 2017, he was the Dutch spokesperson for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
In 2018, Douwe Bob became a coach on the TV show The Voice Kids. He helped young singers improve their skills. On 9 November 2018, he released his fourth album, The Shape I'm In. In 2019, he wrote the main song for the Dutch movie Singel 39. He also had a small part in the film. The movie was very popular, selling over 100,000 tickets.
In 2023, Douwe Bob appeared on the Dutch version of The Masked Singer.
